Blackhawk Bassmasters was contacted by SFC Kelvin Conyers
requesting fishing magazines. SFC Conyers wrote: "I'm writing to
see if I can receive some magazines for the troops here at 28th
Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad. When soldiers have some
downtime we like to relax and take our minds to places to remind
us of home and fishing is one of those popular places that a lot
of soldiers do. So if it is all possible, in support of the
troops send some magazines at your earliest opportunity." BASS and Midwest Outdoors were contacted to supply the troops at the 28th Combat Support Hospital - Baghdad with magazines. Both immediately said yes and shipped current copies of their magazines: BASS Times, Bassmaster, Midwest Outdoors, and Fishing Facts. The club packaged them and shipped the magazines along with other magazines that were collected (Bass Club Digest). SFC Conyers, upon receiving the magazines, provided some pictures and wrote: "Mr. Iantorno, Thanks very much for the magazines. I received 3 boxes. I am in the process of taking some pictures of the soldiers reading them. Definitely it lifted the morale of the soldiers and they really appreciate what you and your sponsors are doing. I will be emailing pictures to you shortly. Thanks again for your support. SFC Conyers" Below are the pictures that SFC Conyers sent: |
